Why We Are a Closed Cattery...
At Kings Kitties Ragdolls, we operate as a closed cattery. This means we do not allow in-home visits with our cats and kittens, as they are lovingly raised within our family home rather than in a commercial facility.
We chose to become a fully closed cattery after careful consideration, with the safety and well-being of our cats, kittens, and family—both human and feline—as our top priority.
In today’s world, maintaining privacy and security is simply wise. We receive inquiries from families across the United States and beyond, and as a private family home (not a storefront or public business), we are not insured to host visitors. Protecting our family and home is essential.
Equally important is health and biosecurity. Illness and disease can spread quickly, often unknowingly. While we carefully health-test, monitor, and quarantine all cats entering our cattery, we are unable to do the same for visitors or their pets. Exposure from recent visits to other catteries, shelters, rescues, or pet-related environments can unintentionally introduce illness that could seriously impact our cats and kittens. Maintaining a closed environment allows us to provide the healthiest possible start for every kitten.
We completely understand the desire to see and connect with your future kitten. To support this, we provide frequent photos, videos, and open communication. We are always happy to answer questions, return messages or phone calls promptly, and guide you through every step as you prepare to welcome your new family member.
Our hearts are centered on safety, love, transparency, and responsible breeding. A closed cattery is not unwelcoming—it is a thoughtful, intentional choice made with the best interests of our kittens, our family, and yours in mind.
For families who are traveling to pick up their kitten, we always meet at a safe public location, ensuring peace of mind for everyone involved. This policy is firm and without exception.
Thank you sincerely for your understanding, trust, and kindness as we work to provide the healthiest and most loving environment possible for our kittens.
